WHO Director General calls on member nations to support that every country vaccinate at least 10% of their population by September

By Zoila Palma: The World Health Assembly opened on Monday with a tribute to fallen health care workers around the world.

Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus called on all member nations to support that every country vaccinate at least 10% of their population in September and to vaccinate at least 30 percent by the end of the year.

Ghebreyesus also called out wealthier nations on inequity in vaccine delivery.

In Belize, the Ministry of Belize and Wellness say that 60,119 people have been vaccinated and 10,429 have been fully vaccinated.

The vaccination campaign continues countrywide and the public is urged to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
