By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Athletes from the entire country will compete at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City on Saturday and Sunday, May 29-30, in the National Track and Field Championships.
The Belize Athletics Association expects at least 125 athletes and at the most 175, this weekend for the National Track and Field Championship at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City, but not all of them are registered as yet.
To facilitate the process and start on time on Saturday, the Belize Athletics Association (BAA) is encouraging athletes to pre-register now.
“Everything is set for the weekend, so, I’m asking athletes to pre-register so that we could have things set up as quickly as possible,” Sutherland added.
Registration forms are available from BAA via email ([email protected]), from their Facebook page (Belize Athletics Association), or at the Marion Jones Sports Complex.
Registration is $10.00 per athlete.
The track events are: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 4x100m, 4x400m, 3000m, 5000m.
The field competitions are: long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, shot put, and discus.
