Belize Weather: Gradual improvement expected

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service says weather conditions are expected to gradually improve over the next 24 to 36 hours.

Skies will be sunny with some cloudy spells today and cloudy at times tonight. A few showers will occur countrywide decreasing to isolated areas of the south tonight.

High temperatures are 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 92 degrees inland and 81 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures will reach 77 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 74 inland and 66 in the hills. A flood warning is in effect for low lying and flood prone areas especially in the Toledo District.

Winds are easterly at 10 to 20 knots and gusty, sea state is moderate. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds.

Tides are high at 9:10 a.m. and 10:59 p.m. and low at 4:38 PM. The sun will set at 6:21 p.m. and rise at 5:17 a.m. Thursday morning.

On Thursday there will be showers and isolated thunderstorms in the south while the rest of the country sees fair weather.
