Brandon Adolphus, Ana Lopez-Camp lead Belize’s Cross Country Team to Central American Championships in Guatemala

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Brandon Adolphus and Ana Lopez-Camp lead the Belize National Cross Country Team which will represent Belize at the CADICA Cross Country Championship in Chiquimula in Guatemala on June 11-12.

Just recently, according to coach Patricia Ramirez, the team had three days of training at Chiquibul Forest Reserve.

Belize will compete in nine categories at the Central American Championships.

Brandon Adolphus and Amir Ramos will compete in the Men’s Open 12K while Ana Lopez-Camp and Irene Thiessen will do so in the Women’s Open 8K.

Kamrone Sainsbury and Nathaniel Linarez will represent in the Men’s U-20 or Junior A 8Km.

Andres Armstrong and Ceasar Trejo represent in the Men’s U18 (Junior B) 6K while Jada Logan does so in the Women’s U18 4K.

Kaylin Monterroso and Keely Faux compete in the Girls U16 (Junior C) 2K while Albert Lemus and Rupert Cardinez represent in the Boys U16 4K.

The Girls U-14 (Infants A) 2K competitors are Latisha Ramirez, Rossy Guardado, Tridean Martinez.

The Boys U14 2K are Ruben Gentle and Arniel Godoy.

The team will be accompanied to Guatemala by coach Patricia Ramirez, the Belie Athletics Association president Deon Sutherland and chaperones Julie Faux and Laruney Cruz.

Ramirez said the training at the Chiquibul Forest Reserve was made possible by the sponsorship of the Belize Athletics Association, Sirenian Bay Resort & Villas, MnM Hardware and Service, Albert Everyday Supermarket, Sutherland’s Vegetable Shop, Yolanda’s Sewing Studio (Independence), Wendy’s Supermarket (Independence), Lukkee’s Supermarket (Independence),Sean Faux, Michelle Gonzalez , Chickie Espat, Ella McDonald, Beth Walton and Splash Dive Center.

She also thanked “Coach Amir Omar Ramos for leading the training … Teacher Julie Kelly-Faux our chaperone and our driver Guilly Garbutt.”
