BREAKING: Reported bomb threat at Tax Service, Treasury

By Aaron Humes: Simultaneous threats to bomb the Charles Bartlett Hyde building, containing the offices of the Belize Tax Service Department among others, and the Treasury Department on Coney Drive, have been reported.

Media reports say both offices have been evacuated and police are combing them for evidence of any bomb or similar equipment.

Public officers affiliated with the Public Service Union (PSU) remain on strike over pay cut concerns among other things, but the origin of the threats are so far unknown.

Previous such threats have usually been taken seriously despite almost never coming to fruition.
