Radar to be active by peak of hurricane season, says Met Service

By Aaron Humes: The National Meteorological Service has taken stick for not having an active radar system during last year’s very active Hurricane season.

That has been partially remedied according to Chief Meteorologist Ronald Gordon, who told us that the system was back up a few weeks ago.

However, there are some glitches to be remedied that will keep the system down up to the peak of the Hurricane season in August and September.

Gordon further explained that the Service considers radar an important tool in its arsenal, but it has shown that it can get by without it as it did last year.
