By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Health and Wellness received laptops and the national HIV guidelines.
In partnership with the National Aids Commission, the United Nations Development Fund and Global fund, the Ministry had received funds for the updating of the national HIV guidelines.
This would standardize the treatment and care of those affected by HIV in Belize.
“The efforts to continue education and training amidst a pandemic came with the need to provide tools such as laptops that could be used for online sessions for health care workers in the districts and regions,” the ministry said.
Dr. Deysi Mendez, CEO in the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Ian King, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Fund and Global fund (UNDP) and Enrique Romero, Executive Director, National Aids Commission (NAC), met today in Belmopan for the handing over.
