BREAKING NEWS: Teachers in trouble? Police considering charges for protest

Posted: Friday, May 28, 2021. 12:55 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says teachers could be in a heap of trouble.

The Department is reviewing evidence it gathered during this morning’s skirmish at the foot of the National Assembly concerning various alleged breaches.

First, there was no permit obtained for the protest, according to Commissioner Williams.

Next, there was little observance of social distancing, though most were wearing masks.

Finally, there was unapproved use of “loudhailers” or megaphones which must be permitted by the Commissioner’s order.

Any arrests will, of necessity, not differentiate between the leaders and their followers.

More on this later.
