Dwayne Wade, Sherwin Roca, Kent ‘Bob’ Gabourel take to the Maskall Road on Sunday for the Weekend Warriors cycling race

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Weekend Warriors will be taking their weekend cycling race to the Maskall Road this Sunday.

According to race organizer, Edison Usher, the race starts at 8 a.m. at the Sandhill junction which unites the Philip Goldson Highway and Maskall Road, also called old Northern Road or old Northern Highway.

The A and B Class riders will do two laps from the Sandhill junction to Maskall and for a total of 46 miles.

The C Class riders will race for lap and a half, approximately 34 miles, so they start at the Altun Ha junction.

All three races will run independent of each other unless a category has less than ten riders. In that case, the riders will start together.

Last Sunday, Dwayne Wade won on the Regional Sanitary Landfill Circuit at Mile 24 off the George Price Highway. Sherwin Roca of Team FAL who had won the previous race was 2nd, Kent ‘Bob’ Gabourel of Cycology 3rd, Preston Martinez of M&M Engineering 4th, and Vallan Symns of Kulture 5th.

Isaiah Willacey of Santino’s won the B Class while Ernest Banner dominated the C Class.
