BREAKING NEWS: Dean Flowers takes over as President of Public Service Union

By Aaron Humes: Former First Vice President of the Public Service Union, Dean Flowers, takes over by acclamation from Gerald Henry after elections today at the Union’s Annual General Meeting.

Flowers, a vocal advocate during the Union’s ongoing industrial action, takes the reins of power at a vital time as the Union and its sisters the Belize National Teachers Union and Association of Public Service Senior Managers weigh their options in response to Government’s intended cuts to salaries and freeze in increments.

The rest of the Union executive is as follows:

First Vice President – Anissa Gonzalez
2nd Vice President – Phillip Tate
Secretary General – Trisha Perez
Councilors – Agnes Novelo and
Amada Carillo
Trustee – Pablo Gonzalez
