Belize City Council digitizes written driver’s test at Traffic Department

Posted: Monday, May 31, 2021. 7:58 pm CST.

By Ruben Morales Iglesias: The written driver’s test will now be done electronically at the Belize City Traffic Department.

“In an effort to increase efficiency, we have digitized the written driver’s test which is now a fully electronic and multiple-choice based assessment,” said the BCC

A social media statement by the Belize City Council said the move will speed up the testing process.

“Results are generated immediately after completion which expedites the process and is also designed using a question bank system that allows for multiple versions of the test to be issued simultaneously.”

The Belize City Council (BCC) said the launch of their new E-Testing Program at the Traffic Department is under the guidance of Councillor Albert Vaughan.

The BCC added that it will soon offer the electronic test in Spanish and Mandarin, the leading Chinese language.

“We are excited to be the first Municipality to explore this form of testing which will later be translated to Spanish and Mandarin to cater to a wider client base.”

The BCC said the electronic tests are part of their move for Belize City to keep up with the times.

“This venture is being driven by innovation and technology as we work towards realizing our vision of transforming our city into a modern, smart and sustainable city. We are proud to see this initiative come to fruition and we look forward to providing this service to our treasured citizens of Belize City.”
