By Aaron Humes: Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryl Lynn Vidal is presently weighing charges against Jasmine Hartin, who remains in police custody at this hour.
The Police investigation into the death of Superintendent Henry Jemmott is complete, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said during a press conference.
He confirmed that the post-mortem examination certified that the manner of death was more consistent with homicide, which in this case simply means the killing of one human being by another, than suicide.
The DPP among other things will now consider whether the killing was intended, which would be murder or partially excused by provocation or other means, which would be manslaughter. Hartin is now cooperating and gave a statement under caution, and Police have taken statements from others in the area.
The Commissioner would not comment on any theory of accidental death or possible self-defense while deploring the “experts” muddying the waters on social media. More to follow.
