By Aaron Humes: A teacher has been detained in San Joaquin, Corozal District, and will be charged with the use of threatening words against the Government.
The teacher, according to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, was in a group with others when making the statements and reportedly encouraging others to join him.
The Belize National Teachers Union was, at least until today, in industrial action against the Government of Belize.
Nonetheless, Williams says there is zero-tolerance for such behavior and he will be charged. Rather than protest as is reportedly being planned, he hopes the union will condemn it.
