Jasmine Hartin bail application headed to Supreme Court today

Posted: Tuesday, June 1, 2021. 8:29 am CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: After having her bail application denied at the Magistrates Court level, Jasmine Hartin will attempt to receive bail from the Supreme Court.

Hartin, who is charged with manslaughter by negligence for the shooting death of Police Superintendent Henry Jemmott,  spent another night in detention at the San Pedro Police Station, after the sitting magistrate upheld the prosecutor’s objection for her to receive bail.

Hartin’s attorney Godfrey Smith SC, said that he would be making the Supreme Court bail application today. If his attempt is unsuccessful, Hartin will be remanded to the Belize Central Prison until her trial date.

Sources say that police are preparing to transport Hartin to Belize City, after the Magistrate signs some paperwork.

This is a developing story.
