By Aaron Humes: Jasmine Hartin, charged with manslaughter by negligence, has arrived at the Hattieville Central Prison, awaiting bail application to the Supreme Court.
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said today that that is as it should be, that Miss Hartin was never to be given special treatment and he advised his officers accordingly.
An additional charge of possession of controlled drugs for a small amount of cocaine in her possession may be added, but the Commissioner praised the heavy lifting of the Director of Public Prosecutions Cheryl-Lynn Vidal, who has been guiding the investigation thus far.
A ballistics report is still pending, and the Commissioner said he wanted to avoid the uproar that would have surely resulted if, as he estimated, Hartin would be released before it was ready.
