Pharmacist shot leaving store in Belize City

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City drug store owner was targeted on Fabers Road Monday night.

42-year-old Edward Flowers, pharmacist of Aloe Vera Street and the owner of Aloe Vera Pharmacy 2 on Fabers Road Extension, was locking up for the night around 7:25 p.m. Monday.

As he headed outside and prepared to leave, a man standing about 15 feet away fired in his direction, wounding him in the right shoulder.

The shooter then fled toward Central American Boulevard, while Flowers was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
