Jasmine Hartin bail hearing set to begin

By BBN Staff: Jasmine Hartin’s bail hearing is being held this afternoon in the Belize City Supreme Court before Justice Herbert Lord.

Hartin is the main suspect in the shooting death of Superintendent of Police, Henry Jemmott. The bail hearing is being done via video link from the Belize Central Prison.

Hartin was previously denied bail at the Magistrate Court in San Pedro. Some have pointed out the rushed nature of today’s hearing whereas bail hearings normally take place on Fridays.

Unsatisfied with the charge of manslaughter by negligence by police and after having publicly expressed disappointment with the police department over the charge, Jemmott’s family has indicated to BBN that a wrongful death suit against Hartin is imminent.
