By Zoila Palma: Minister of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise, Jose Mai shared the story of a farmer from San Juan/Cow Pen this morning.
Mai says that farmer Edgar Gonzalez lost his job in the Tourism Sector more than a year ago and he found another way to generate income to sustain his family.
Gonzalez began experimenting by processing hot peppers and bananas.
He was seeking assistance to improve his products and visited the Food Processing unit in Central Farm where technicians assisted him.
Today, he has improved his products with proper labeling, the products are now ready for the market.
Mai thanked the technicians and congratulated the farmer.
