Henry Jason Li wins first stage in Tour de Murrieta in the combined Categories 4/5

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Henry Jason Li won the Tour de Murrieta criterium, the first of three stages, in Categories 4/5 in California on Saturday, June 5 riding for Project BZE.

Li won the gold medal in the criterium over Isaiah Youngbrown (silver) of Ventura, California and Darren Parham (bronze) of Yucaipa, California.

Fifty riders participated in the race.

Li was 13th in the Omnium race on Sunday, June 6. Youngbrown and Parham were 1 and 2 in that race.

Li was leading the Omnium but “Fell in a hole and my FD didn’t want to switch to my big blade. That’s racing folks!”

Li finished off the Tour de Murrieta by placing 37th in the circuit race in a field of 62 on Sunday, June 6.

“Glad to rep Belize,” Li said. “Tulsa tough coming up!”
