San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council, NEMO conduct training for disaster emergency volunteers

By Zoila Palma: The San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council, partnered with US-AID and the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) in conducting a 2-day training for Disaster Emergency Volunteers.

The 2-day training was held on June 3 and 4, 2021.

The council says that the objective is to create a framework for San Ignacio and Santa Elena Disaster Response Team and to strengthen the capacity of volunteers, to respond to disasters in and outside of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, by providing course trainings that would increase their effectiveness, safety and resilience.

The council noted that the program will also focus on coordinating with all community groups.

Another course training will be held on July 15 and 16, 2021.
