By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Gymastics World Champion Simone Biles on Sunday won a record seventh US national all-around title as she prepares to lead the US in the Tokyo Olympics next month.
According to CNN, Biles totaled 119.650 which was 4.7 points more than runner-up Sunisa Lee. Jordan Chiles, one of Biles’ teammates, took third place with a score of 114.450.
Biles said this could be one of her last championships.
“I feel like I did try to enjoy it because it could be one of my last championships that I’ll attend,” she said.
“But it’s also the road to Tokyo, and after this we have trials, so we just have to really embrace the moment.”
Apart from the all-around crown, Biles also won the balance beam, floor exercise and vault events. She finished third in the uneven bars.
Biles’ next event should be the US Olympic team trials from June 24-27 in St. Louis before the Olympics.
