New study says Sinopharm vaccines appear safe and effective

By Zoila Palma: A study published online in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that China’s Sinopharm vaccine appears safe and effective against COVID-19.

The Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine had been approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is now included in the vaccination campaign in Belize as well as other countries.

The report concluded the two vaccines, Sinovac and Sinopharm are about 73% and 78% effective, as Sinopharm has previously claimed.

Researchers said that the trial involved over 40,000 people and was conducted in 4 countries, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Jordan.

Both vaccines are already being administered to millions across the globe.

Chinese authorities indicated that the country had provided vaccines to over 100 countries.
