By Aaron Humes: On Wednesday afternoon there was a fatal accident along the Hummingbird Highway in the southern Cayo District.
Police found a blue Honda Accord with damage to its left side on the right side of the highway traveling south between Armenia and Saint Margaret’s village.
Information revealed that three men had been inside the vehicle and had been taken to hospital with various injuries.
Driver Sean Guzman, 32, of Roaring Creek, Cayo District, and two others were heading to the Sibun River around 2:30 in the afternoon when Guzman lost control and overturned.
Passenger Prince Charles Benjamin, 30, construction worker from Unitedville, Cayo District, died after sustaining a large cut wound to the right inner thigh.
Fellow passenger Greg Garcia, 31, a truck operator from Unitedville, sustained abrasions to the forehead, right arm, right knee, lower back, and a small cut wound to right arm. He is stable at Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan.
Guzman sustained abrasions to the left shoulder and complained of pain in the lower back. He is also listed in stable condition.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
