By Zoila Palma: On Thursday, Taiwan’s ambassador to Belize, David Chien handed over 5,000 made-in-Taiwan surgical face masks and 500 isolation gowns to Ramon Cervantes, Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration.
Also present was Debra Baptist-Estrada, Director of Border Management and Immigration Services.
The face masks and isolation gowns will assist frontline immigration officers to perform their important duties of safeguarding the health of Belizeans.
“Taiwan pledges to be the reliable and trustworthy partner of Belize in its endeavors to ensure the health and well-being of Belizeans,” a statement from the embassy said.
