By Aaron Humes: Celebrant Father Jerris Valentine asked today’s congregation at the funeral of Supt. Henry Jemmott, who may still be holding anger in them to rid themselves of it and be forgiving.
If we are to see the Lord our hearts must be clean, free of impure thoughts, Father Valentine said.
Superintendent Henry Jemmott has “earned his wings,” and gone to heaven, Father Valentine said; but those who knew and loved him must now let him go, so that he may rest in peace.
He charged Henry’s son, Henry III, to take up where his father left off and take care of his family, with the support of the church community and police family.
