Eric Trapp wins U-23 National Time Trial Cycling Championship on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Eric Trapp of the Westrac Alliance team won the U-23 National Time Trial Race in 45 minutes, 53 seconds on Sunday morning on the John Smith Road. Trapp was the Junior winner in 2019, the last time the event was held.

The 20-mile race started and ended by the Western Pines junction on the John Smith Road. The race covered two laps on the John Smith which stretches from the Philip Goldson International Airport Road roundabout to the George Price Highway Mile-8 roundabout.

Trapp was followed by 501 Valvoline Cycling Team’s Joshua Fuller in 46:36. Third place was taken by Carlton Robinson of Westrac Alliance in 47:46.

Jyven Gonzalez of Project BZE was fourth with a time of 48:46. In fifth position, Mairon Muñoz of 501 Valvoline Cycling Team clocked 49:26.

In six position, Shawn Codd of G-Flow recorded 51:01.

2019 winner Gian Lino of Westrac Alliance was 7th in 51:14. In 2019, Lino won the event in 45:59.

Deyon Watters of the C-Ray D. Banner Cycling Team was 8th in 54:01.

The next event is National Road Championship to be held on June 20.

Lino won the event in 2019 in 4:35:36, same time as Overall and Elite winner Ron Vasquez.
