Goran Gabourel edges Derrick Chavarria to win Junior National Time Trial Cycling Championship on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Goran Gabourel of the C-Ray Cycling Team crossed the finish line three seconds ahead of Derrick Chavarria of the 501 Valvoline Cycling Team claiming the Junior National Time Trial Championship in 24 minutes, 21 seconds on Sunday morning on the John Smith Road.

Chavarria clocked 24:24.

The 10-mile race started and ended by the Western Pines junction on the John Smith Road. The race covered one lap on the John Smith which stretches from the Philip Goldson International Airport Road roundabout to the George Price Highway Mile-8 roundabout.

Renan Codd of G-Flow took 3rd place in 25:00, 39 seconds behind Trapp.

Tyler Tejeda of Guerra’s Bikeshop crossed the finish line in 4th position in 25:23.

Tejeda won the Youth crown.

Daniel Williams was 5th in 25:41 and Elwin Humes 6th in 27:03.

Gabrielle Gabourel was recorded as 7th in 29:36 and Jamar Murry 8th in 30:21.

The next event is National Road Championship to be held on June 20.
