More than 2 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses administered around the world

By Zoila Palma: The COVID-19 vaccination campaign has crossed a big milestone with over 2 billion vaccine doses administered around the world.

Two hundred and eleven countries now have active vaccination plans, CNN reports.

The vaccine rollout strategy varies from country to country and there is a call from COVAX for equitable access to vaccines.

Most countries are using vaccines that require 2 doses in order to have their population fully protected against COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness in Belize is using the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.

To date, 16,116 people in Belize are fully vaccinated.

And, 72,453 people have received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The public is urged to get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones.
