Thieves broke into La Immaculada R.C. School, damage to property cost more than what was stolen

Posted: Monday, June 14, 2021. 4:12 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: La Immaculada R.C. School in Orange Walk was burglarized recently; however, the damage the thieves caused to get into the school amounted to more than the items they made off with.

The school’s management posted on the school’s official Facebook account today, noting that the items included a few bottles of detergent, toilet paper, and liquid soap; meanwhile, the thieves damaged the louvers and windows, which will be expensive to have repaired.

“Please don’t break into the school anymore all that is left in the classrooms are shop paper and a few dry up markers. IT’S NOT WORTH IT!!” the school pleaded.

The incident is the latest in an increasing number of burglary reports of school compounds. Last week, Trinity Methodist School in Belize City was burglarized; however, the burglars in that incident made off with several electronic items including a DVR, Bluetooth speaker, laptop, printer, and printer copier.
