By Aaron Humes: As a result of moist and unstable conditions prevailing, says the National Meteorological Service, skies today will be sunny with cloudy spells and mostly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated except for the north and some inland areas as well as isolated thunderstorms. Later, shower activity will increase countrywide and especially over the north and some coastal areas. A flood watch continues in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas.
High temperatures are 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 93 degrees Fahrenheit inland and 78 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight, the mercury peaks at 79 degrees along the coast, 74 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.
Winds are east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots; sea state is moderate.
Tides will be high at 12:43 PM this afternoon and high at 8:20 PM this evening.
The sun sets at 6:28 PM this evening and rises Wednesday morning at 5:18 AM.
