Corozal to see first of its kind, Football academy

By Zoila Palma: On June 10, Mayor Rigo Vellos signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Corozal Football Association and the Corozal Sports Council.

The MOU was signed in concreting Corozal Town Council’s commitment to supporting the development of sports in Corozal.

Present at the signing were executive officials of the Football Federation of Belize, members of the Corozal Football Association, and members of the Corozal Sports Council.

Corozal will see the roll-out of a Football academy program.

The program will teach children aged 5-10 fundamental football principles and techniques.

 The initiative will be spearheaded as a pilot project by the Football Association over a period of 12-weeks.

This initiative is scheduled to occur in municipalities across the country.
