Eriksen tribute: Denmark-Belgium Euro 2020 game stopped at Minute 10

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: As promised by Romelu Lukaku and Belgium, the Euro 2020 match between Belgium and Denmark at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen was stopped at the 10th minute by the Belgian players who gave up an attacking opportunity to celebrate Christian Eriksen.

Eriksen, who is a member of the Denmark National Football Team, collapsed when he suffered a heart attack in the 42’ of Denmark’s Euro 2020 game against Finland.

The players from both teams, the officials, and the fans at the stadium joined in applauding Eriksen who is recovering at a hospital near the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen where Saturday’s game was played and where today’s game is being played.

Eriksen wears the number 10 jersey for Denmark, the reason today’s match was stopped at the 10th minute.

A gigantic red Eriksen shirt sporting number 10 was unveiled before the match as well.

Lukaku and Belgium manager Roberto Martinez said the tribute is a celebration of life, but that after the tribute they have a game to win.

They sure do, as Denmark jumped them and went ahead 1-0 in the second minute of play.
