More than 2.5 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses administered around the world

By Zoila Palma: The COVID-19 vaccination campaign has crossed a big milestone with over 2.55 billion vaccine doses administered around the world or about 16% of the global population, according to Bloomberg.

It is the largest vaccination campaign in history with a rate of 37 million doses administered per day.

Countries that have received the COVID-19 vaccines have focused on priority groups including those clinically vulnerable and elderly.

Lower-income countries are fully relying on the World Health Organization’s COVAX facility for access to vaccines.

Most of the COVID-19 vaccines require 2 doses to be fully vaccinated.

In Belize, the Ministry of Health and Wellness is using the Sinopharm and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
