Shyne says he is ready to be Leader of the Opposition

By BBN Staff: On Monday, parliamentarians wrote to the Governor General petitioning to remove their leader, Patrick Faber from office.

Shyne issued a statement saying that Hugo Patt, Denise Barrow and himself wrote to the GG to notify that ‘the Hon. Patrick Faber no longer enjoys the confidence of the majority of Opposition Members of the House.’

Barrow then thanked his colleagues for their confidence in him to serve as Leader of the Opposition.

“I will continue to work diligently with the Leader of Opposition Business in the Senate, Hon. Michael Peyrefitte and all the Opposition Members of the House and Senate to hold this Government accountable and advocate on behalf of the People for better policy to make better the quality of life for all Belizeans.

The parliamentarians reportedly proposed that Barrow, a first time Area representative be proposed as the replacement for Faber.
