Ana Lopez-Camp wins Father’s Day 10K in the West

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ana Lopez-Camp won the Father’s Day 10K in the West race held in San Ignacio and Santa Elena on Sunday.

Lopez-Camp of the Splash team won the 10K in 44 minutes, 31.4 seconds, with a lead of over 11 minutes.

The race, organized by the San Ignacio & Santa Elena Town Council, started and finished at the Victor Galvez Stadium in San Ignacio going in a circle through the twin-town.

Irene Thiessen of Westrac was second in 55:53.0. Irene was also the winner of the Masters Category.

Her teammate Roxana Lemus ran in 3rd in 56:43.0.

Lliani Ordonez of Heart & Sole was 4th in 58:05.6.

Evelyn Zuleta of Belmopan took the 5th spot in 1:00:37.5.

Tracie Segura was 6th in 1:00:58.6.

Rossy Guardado of Team Splash was 7th and the winner of the 21 and Under Category in 1:03:09.4

Xenia Rauda of Westrac followed in the 8th position in 1:05:27.8.

Chickie Espat of Nana’s BnB finished 9th in 1:07:08.3 while Dorsha Sabido rounded off the Top 10 in 1:07:33.0.

All 20 runners completed the event.
