Department of Youth Services offices re-open following COVID-19 lockdown

Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2021. 7:46 pm CST.

By Benjamin Flowers: The Department of Youth Services (DYS), under the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and E-Governance, announced today that its offices countrywide have been re-opened to the public.

The DYS noted that its offices were temporarily closed as of June 17, 2021, after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19. As per protocol, other staff members were placed on one-week quarantine and required to take a PCR test. During the downtime, all district offices were sanitized, and all test results have since come back negative.

“The DYS thanks everyone for their patience as proper protocols for the safety of staff and the public were carried out. The department continues to encourage the public to keep observing safety measures such as washing hands frequently and for at least 20 seconds, wearing a mask, and practicing social distancing,” the DYS said.
