Prime Minister urges all Belizeans to get vaccinated

Posted: Thursday, June 24, 2021. 10:47 am CST.

By Zoila Palma: Prime Minister John Briceno expressed his concern of the recent rise in COVID-19 cases.

Briceno says that he continues to remind all Belizeans that the virus is not going.

“We brought in the professionals to address the COVID-19 situation, but we have to find balance between health and the economy…. The new variant can come through land or air, it is just a matter of time. This is why it is important to get vaccinated,” Briceno said.

The Prime Minister said that getting vaccinated will help the country fight the virus.

The mandatory testing at the border points will reportedly be privatized and when asked about it, PM Briceno said that as it is, health workers are stretched thin.
