By BBN Staff: A 21 -year-old construction worker from Belize City is on remand at the Belize Central Prison for stabbing a man.
Orlandave Englebert Parham was arraigned late yesterday evening before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was charged with one count of attempted murder and another count of use of deadly means of harm with a deadly weapon.
The Senior Magistrate informed Parham that he could not enter a plea due to the nature of the offense neither could he be granted bail at the Magistrate level. He will remain on remand until his next trial date, August 27, 2021.
Parham is charged with stabbing 32-year-old Giovanni Augustine to the abdomen on Monday, June 21. Augustine’s common-law wife told police that they were walking in the vicinity of the Belize City Center when Parham rode up to them on a bicycle and began arguing with Augustine over a previous altercation.
She went on to say that during the altercation, Parham pulled out a knife and inflicted the wound.
