By Ruben Morales Iglesias: As Jasmine Hartin is set to appear in court today local and international media keep reporting on her very high-profile case.
Hartin, charged with manslaughter by negligence in the shooting death of Superintendent Henry Jemmott, broke her silence by speaking with the 7News and British newspaper The Daily Mail telling them that Superintendent Henry Jemmott was her friend and was trying to help her because she had been the victim of attempted rape.
Hartin reportedly said that Jemmott had recommended that she needed to learn to use a gun and was teaching her to do so when the gun went off and shot him.
She says she has only seen her children once and her mother reportedly uploaded a video on Facebook where she was seen pleading to her husband Andrew Ashcroft to let him see them.
This confrontation reportedly violated the conditions of her release and she might find herself back in jail should the court withdraw the bail.
