By BBN Staff: On Wednesday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said there may be a link between 2 COVID-19 vaccines and a rare heart condition in boys and young men, Voice of America reports.
According to the report, over 1200 people who had received their dose of the Pfizer of Moderna vaccines developed myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart muscle.
The condition was seen more in men and was detected more after the second dose than the first.
However, the CDC said that despite the “likely association” between the vaccines and the condition, the benefits of receiving the vaccine far outweigh the risks.
