Mesop education assistance restricted, says new Leader of the Opposition

By Aaron Humes: Leader of the Opposition in the House of Representatives Moses “Shyne” Barrow this afternoon posted bad news on social media for his constituents in Mesopotamia.

He wrote, “I regret to inform the Mesopotamia Constituents that the Ministry of Education has offered only four thousand dollars for education assistance to the Mesopotamia Constituency. I will only be able to help 40 students with $100 each. I ask that only those families that are unemployed or financially challenged bring their school bills to the office next Tuesday [July 6] at 10:30 am.”

He did not make clear whether the Ministry’s educational assistance pool was restricted leading to his selection criteria, but we will follow up with him and the Ministry both on this developing story.
