By Zoila Palma: More than 20% of the global population has received a dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, Our World in Data reports.
Three billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered globally and 41.26 million doses are being administered each day.
However, there still exists a large gap in the vaccination campaigns in low-income countries.
Only 0.9% of people in low-income countries have received at least 1 dose.
The World Health Organization (WHO) continues to call for vaccine sharing through COVAX in order to ensure equitable access to vaccines.
