By Zoila Palma: On Friday, June 25, 2021, the Ya’axché Conservation Trust hosted its virtual expo.
The expo was held under the theme: Empowering Communities, Conserving Biodiversity, Connecting the World.
The expo is one of the annual events hosted to celebrate the climate-smart agricultural practices the farmers are implementing.
Four outstanding farmers have been awarded, recognizing their efforts towards sustainable land use management for agriculture.
“Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, it is quite heartwarming to share the experiences of our MGL Farmers,” the trust said.
The Trust thanked the Inter-American Foundation for supporting Ya’axché Farmers’ Expo 2021.
The farmers that received the awards conducted virtual farm tours:
