Department of Youth Services and DFC discuss micro-financing loans

By Zoila Palma: On Thursday, representatives from the Department of Youth Services (DYS)along with Minister Kevin Bernard, CEO Jose Urbina and Director Kevin Cadle met with members of the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to explore ways they can provide opportunities for young Belizeans to get access to micro financing loans

DYS is also focusing on youth Entrepreneurship and On-the-Job Skills Training that aims to assist in the development of entrepreneurial skills, self-confidence, and self-reliance of young people.

“We recognize this as an opportunity for small business owners and young entrepreneurs to pursue business development. Similarly, our training institutes provides opportunities for revenue generation through agriculture and aquaculture,” DYS noted.

DYS says that the hope is for young people to be able to benefit from the services and collaboration.
