Belmopan City Council reportedly firing more than 10 staff members in “Restructuring” exercise

By BBN Staff: The Belmopan City Council is reportedly firing more than 10 employees in what it refers to as a “restructuring” exercise.

Our newsroom has been informed that the employees have been placed on mandatory vacation leave as of Monday, July 5, until August 13, at which time their employment will come to an end.

The Council has written to the employees affected, explaining that a letter will be forthcoming, regarding the benefits payable to them.

Sources tell BBN as many as 13 people are affected by the restructuring exercise.
