Dr Fauci concerned that not all Americans want to get vaccinated, similar concern in other countries as well

By Rubén Morale Iglesias: The Delta variant of COVID-19 is spreading fast throughout the world. In the United States it’s moved up from 10 percent of COVID-19 cases to more than 50 percent in a few weeks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Now, Dr Anthony Fauci, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said he is very much concerned that many Americans are not getting vaccinated.

“There are places in the world where people would do anything to get a vaccine and yet we have a substantial proportion of people in very specific regions of the country who just do not want to get vaccinated,” said Dr Anthony Fauci said to CNN.

But, it’s not only in the United States. Here in Belize there is a similar situation, so Dr Fauci’s concern applies here as well.

In neighbouring countries where the vaccination roll-out has not reached those under 50, as in neighbouring Guatemala which is experiencing a surge of COVID-19 infections, they also have a similar situation where not everyone wants to get vaccinated.

On the other hand, many Guatemalans under 50, who are not being vaccinated in Guatemala as yet, are flocking over to the neighbouring city of Tapachula in Chiapas to get vaccinated. The Mexican authorities are vaccinating everyone within their vaccination range regardless of their nationality.
