National total for COVID-19 infections over 13,500

By Benjamin Flowers: Belize has recorded more than 13,500 cases of COVID-19 since the first confirmed case last year, reports the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The Ministry’s latest national update shows that there are 42 newly confirmed cases, detected from a sample batch of 1,285 tests. The new cases were split between 23 females and 19 males, with a daily positivity rate of 3.30.

The new cases have brought the national total up to 13,518.

There were no new deaths related to the virus reported today.
