Belize City Magistrate’s Court re-opens after sanitization exercise

Posted: Monday, July 12, 2021. 11:46 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The Belize City Magistrate’s Court re-opened for business as usual today after being closed most of last week due to a reported COVID-19 infection among the staff.

The court had closed at midday on July 5, and staff members were sent home, while a company from Orange Walk was contracted to conduct deep cleaning and sanitization of the facility.

The closure is the second time the Belize City Magistrate’s Court had to close due to a reported infection, with the first being back in October 2020, when five prosecutors from the prosecution branch tested positive for the virus.
