Belize District leads weekend tally of COVID-19 cases, South on radar as well

By Aaron Humes: The greater Belize City area accounts for 15 of this weekend’s 43 new cases of COVID-19, the southern Districts another 11.

Belize City added 11 new cases of COVID-19 and Ladyville and Lords Bank two each.

Midway, one of the communities still under lockdown as of this week, has two new cases; Santa Ana, 5; and Crique Sarco and Sunday Wood, one each. Independence and Maya Center each had one case.

Elsewhere, there were four new cases in Orange Walk Town; three new cases each in San Ignacio and San Pedro Town; two in San Antonio, Cayo District, and one each in Corozal Town, Belmopan, Benque Viejo, Cristo Rey, and Valley of Peace.

The Belize District minus San Pedro has 3,493 total cases; Cayo, 2,694; Orange Walk, 2,635; Corozal, 1,622; Stann Creek, 1,565; Toledo, 928, and San Pedro, 624.
