By BBN Staff: A Camalote woman facing charges of theft and damage to property is out on bail this week after allegedly stealing furniture and a number of other items from a Police Inspector’s home in Mahogany Heights.
Shareta Guzman, 30, appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson, accused of breaking a window and damaging a door lock to gain entry into the home of Inspector Francis Zuniga and stealing mattresses, fans, a refrigerator, clothes (including eight police uniforms), and shoes, all to a total value of $5,415.
In court, Guzman was unrepresented but pleaded not guilty. There was no objection to bail and she was offered bail in the sum of $2,000 plus someone surety of the same with the condition that she is to keep 100 yeards away from Zuniga and not attempt to contact him directly or through a third party.
Guzman’s next court date is set for September 15, 2021.
